Children of our Parish will be celebrating First Holy Communion on 19, 20, and 27 August 2017.

If your child is in Year 3, or above, they are eligible to receive their First Holy Communion.

Parent Information Night

The Parent Information Night will be held in the Cathedral Parish Centre, Keppel St Thursday 22 June, 7.30pm – 8.30pm. Parents are required to be present at this meeting, so as to be clear about what you need to do to assist your child in the preparation and celebration of the Sacrament. Children need not attend.

Registration forms for First Holy Communion will be given out at the Parent Night.

Enrolment

Candidates will be enrolled to begin their formal preparation for First Holy Communion at all Masses in the parish on the weekends of 24th and 25th June, and 1st and 2nd July.

Parish Mass times are: Saturday 5.00pm in the Cathedral, Sunday 10.00am in the Cathedral, and 8.00am and 6.00pm at the Assumption.  You may attend any Mass for this enrolment. There will be no enrolments taken at the Parish Office.

Lessons

For those children not attending Catholic Schools, lessons will be held at Holy Family School. (School phone 6331 3279).

The lessons will be held from 4.00pm – 4.50pm on Thursdays: 20 July, 27 July,  3 August, 10 August, 17 August.

Your child must attend all these classes to adequately prepare them for reception of their First Holy Communion. Your involvement in the preparation of your child for this Sacrament is crucial as you are the first teachers in the ways of faith for your children and the primary role models for them.
