Vigil Mass 6 & 13 July 2019 moves to The Assumption Church
The Bathurst Winter Festival continues to grow each year and this year Council has had to extend the precinct to cater for all festival attendees. This means that Keppel Street, between George and William Street, will be closed to all traffic on Saturday 6 July and Saturday 13 July for two major events.
To ensure the safety of all event patrons, the Police, along with Bathurst Regional Council will close access to the Cathedral Car Park, off Keppel Street, on both event days.
There will be no access to parking or private car parks on Keppel Street, between William and George Street from 5am – 11pm Saturday 6 July and 5am – 11pm Saturday 13 July.
Council anticipates large crowd numbers for these events. With the crowd (and car) numbers attending those evenings of the Winter Festival, there is little chance of parking close to the Cathedral for those parishioners attending the 5pm Mass.
So, Saturday Vigil Mass on July 6 and July 13 will be held in the Assumption church in Mitre Street.
There will be Mass at 5pm at Perthville on July 6, which will be another option for parishioners.
If those rostered on the various ministries for the Vigil Mass do those same ministries at the Assumption Church on those evenings that would be greatly appreciated.
